Enchanting Holland - Land of Canals

It felt like an earthquake!

Standing inside the domed crown of a massive, 200 year-old windmill - the old wooden structure shuddered, as huge circular cogs slowly turned, pushed by the enormous, cloth-covered wind vanes spinning outside in a stiff breeze. It was quite the sight!

There's more to the Netherlands than just windmills, dikes and tulips!

Join Voyageurfred for the adventure, as he takes you on an adventurous 2,000 km journey, boating on ancient canals, riding on electrified trains, and a road trip through the lush countryside of enchanting Holland, much of it resting below sea level!

Starting with Amsterdam's magnificent Tall Ships festival, we visit historical old cities laced with meandering canals, including architecturally stunning Rotterdam and The Hague. See the beautiful Keukenhof flower gardens, the sandy desolate beauty of Texel Island on the North Sea, and a look at the paintings by renowned Dutch masters, such as Vincent van Gogh - in Amsterdam’s famous Van Gogh Museum.

Of course, no tour would be complete, without a peek inside a few working windmills!

It's a rousing, 90-minute travelogue filled with the music, history, culture and colour of Holland, featuring golden unicorns, ancient castles and Frederic's always amusing - tales from the trails!
